She became involved in her profession through her affinity for teaching. She attained her current role after teaching German to 10th- through 12th-grade students for 30 years.

Ms. Degnan believes that by helping a teacher improve, it in turn helps the children. Her greatest desire is to ensure that each child has an easy time learning and feels safe.
