Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she started in molecular biology, but soon realized that she wanted to remain involved with large, complex systems. She wanted to work on the business level, and she has been doing so for 22 years.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Jacoby expects her team of 40 to grow to between 55 and 60 by next year. While working for Oracle, she contributed to technical publications. She currently does public speaking. She will be a panelist for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Managing a team of 40; Handling recruiting and firing for the team, as well as strategic planning and development; Designing tools to make it easier to write programs for testing purposes; Providing the team with vision and direction; Prioritizing; Budgeting; Working with the software teams responsible for producing many of the company's core components and large company-wide product initiatives
