She became involved in her profession because she obtained a degree in English and wasn't sure what to do with it. She worked at several schools that she didn't like and she eventually found a school that was the right fit for her.

Ms. Kimmerle is presently beginning her 41st year of teaching. She has taught grades five through 12 on the community college level, and adult basic education.
