What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
She attributes her success to having a strong work ethic, proactive approach, determination and passion, as well as following her motto, "Live to inspire." Her experience has shown her that all people have the ability to be productive citizens, but that some individuals need someone to believe in them. She wants to teach people to be that "someone" for others.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because, as a high-school student, she discovered her love of service to others when she volunteered as a mentor for at-risk youth. Recognizing the importance of a functional family system and seeing a need to restore the family institution, she focused her postsecondary and graduate education on psychology, human services and community counseling, with an emphasis on marriage and family.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Moreno has worked in the human services profession for a total of 13 years, including three years in clinical mental health. Upon her graduation with a master's degree, she began working with couples in order to strengthen families. She firmly believes that the parental unit is the foundation of a family, which is the foundation of a community, and that in order to change the outside (the community), you must start with the inside (the family unit). By having high expectations for others, she has assisted them in achieving great results. She says, "I don't hope to change the world one day; I hope I already have." Ms. Moreno finds being of service to others to be most rewarding, but she has many other interests as well, ranging from math to poetry. Her core values include responsibility, accountability for one's actions, respect for life, and kindness.

In five years, Ms. Moreno plans to become a graduate professor and pursue her research interests in marriage and family therapy, trauma, depression, suicide, the military population, Filipino culture, and the psychological effects of having a chronic illness.
