Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
The highlight of her career was receiving a master of science in oral biomaterials. It opened for her a whole new world of possibilities in the dental field. Conducting research, having it published, and presenting findings or lecturing around the world has been a great experience. On a personal level, the highlight has been her child.

She attributes her success to a passion for learning and a compassion for people. She sets goals and seeks to pursue them with determination and a desire to succeed. She knows other professionals and has friends who advise her when she needs others' viewpoints. Her family is an especially important part of her support system.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she was always drawn to the health professions. She became interested in dentistry when her first dental visit was to a female dentist. This was one of the first female professionals she encountered. Another reason for her interest was that she saw family members who suffered from poor oral and dental health, and she felt that dentistry was a way she could improve the quality of life for others.

Dr. Fay is an adjunct faculty member at The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. She instituted the curriculum for cosmetic dentistry, and is considered an expert in this field. She has done research, been published in several journals, and lectured locally, nationally and internationally. She is interested in global networking, especially in health and the issues of the small-business owner.
