She attributes her success to God, always putting Him first. Her faith took her through life, and she gives God all the praise and glory.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she has always used Mary Kay products. After a illness in which she had to go to the Mayo clinic in Rochester, Minn., her good friend and neighbor told her about certain Mary Kay products to use. Within a short period of time, she saw such positive results that she knew God had showed her the way, and she wanted to change her life.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Steyn-Melhorn has overcame many obstacles but always persevered. She once weighted 587 pounds, and her mission was to be an airline flight attendant. She lost weight and pursued a full-time career with Continental Airlines. She also has survived a plane crash. She feels that Mary Kay is her ministry in which she can share her stories and help women by empowering them and enriching their lives. She has certain mottos she lives by: Love life and love what she does and love doing it; be stronger than excuses or any illness; and if you don't accept it, you can't correct it. She believes in faith first, family second and career third. Her husband is a B756 captain at Continental Airlines. She feels extremely blessed to remain in her community for her career, and to be able to give back directly to the community that has so warmly welcomed and supported her and her family. She has a fully stocked Mary Kay store and is always ready to help with any skin care or beauty needs. She always has the latest products. She handles scheduled free facial and skin care treatments. She can develop any plan to make it work and fit needs. She has a great eye, is energetic and has a positive attitude.
