The highlight of her career was her assignment in Houston as the training center manager; she had a lot of responsibility and was able to drive the direction of the training for the employees. She managed a team of highly motivated employees, which was a great opportunity to continuously improve.

She attributes her success to her drive and setting high expectations for herself. In addition, she has always been supported by the company that she works for and was properly developed in areas that were relevant to her career.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after initially meeting Schlumberger by meeting them at a recruiting fair at her University; she immediately applied and was given a job which she took and began working as soon as she graduated. Since then, she has developed her career within the oilfield service company from starting as a field engineer.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Corcoran started as an international field engineer for four years; working in Denmark, Norway and Nigeria. Throughout her career in Schlumberger, she has worked for two major departments, wireline logging and drilling. She has also worked in several functions: personnel, training, supply chain and quality.
In 2005 she was assigned to Baku, Azerbaijan as a department manager. She was responsible for running the business, P&L management, asset planning, and people planning. She then moved back to Norway where she was a technical engineer supporting Statoil Hydro for their exploration wells. In 2007, Ms. Corcoran was assigned as a segment personnel manager for the North Sea area; still located in Norway. In April of 2009, she was transferred to Houston, USA as a training center manager where she was responsible for running the day to day activities in the training center and the technical training packages that are delivered to Schlumberger employees throughout their career.
Her current position in 2011 is quality manager for supply chain in North America, based in Houston. She is responsible for supporting the organization and developing a quality culture. Her current projects are defining documentation for supply chain, policies, standards, procedures, providing training for personnel, proper non conformance reporting and root cause analysis, continuous improvement and lean.
Her main achievements in her career have been her ability to manage her family life along with progressing her career. She has two small children under 5 and is also part of a dual career marriage where her husband also works for the same company. Together they have been able to manage two successful careers and raise two wonderful children.
