Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Koran was a music educator for 34 years, mostly in instrumental music. Recently retired, she maintains that she always thoroughly enjoyed her job, and that it never felt like work. Indeed, she remains active in the music education field. She plays in several orchestras, participates in many clinics, and serves as an adjudicator with the Texas Music Adjudicators Association. The group is comprised of experienced professionals who offers high standards of ethics and encourage the development of music in the schools. Ms. Koran's orchestras received numerous awards at the competition level and across the nation, and she had many students go on to become professional musicians.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Teaching 50 freshman orchestral students in a 90-minute class; Teaching a middle group of sophomores, juniors and seniors in warm-ups and small ensembles; Teaching a select group of about 25 students at the top skill level and helping them prepare for outside-of-school performances and performances at school functions
