Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she wanted to help students learn to think and write, and to watch the figurative light bulb light up. She left the classroom to be a national consultant, to help more students by making teachers better. She missed the classroom and has come back full circle. She brings to her classroom the ideas and skills she developed in the professional development she taught at state conferences speaking in front of 400 to 500 teachers; she uses these techniques in her teaching.

Ms. Dennis has been teaching advanced placement courses for five years. She was a national language arts instructor for a publishing company for nine years. Ms. Dennis taught in the classroom for 15 years, and was a national consultant for nine years.

Teaching critical thinking and analytical writing skills to ninth-grade students
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Ms. Dennis hopes to go back into the consulting field, and take what she has learned and apply it.
