She attributes her success to her father, who showed confidence in her, and told her to get her education because an education is something that no on can take away.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after retiring from an extensive career in education; she was working in a quilt shop and had the idea of putting a needlework design book together. She was approached by a publisher who lived nearby whom asked her to publish her designs.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Moore taught kindergarten through grades 12 and special education for 29 years at public schools in Ohio and Texas. Within her first year of retirement, she became published in a book of quiltmaking and needlework designs which was sold internationally. She has been writing for the quarterly magazine The Wool Street Journal for five years. One of her most recent articles is titled "Gifted and Talented Aren't We All." In teaching others about needlework and quilting, she draws from years of experience as an educator.
