Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing all standards of compliance in internal audits, to comply with professional standards; Working on a special quality review project; Managing and perform audit assignments throughout the company, as part of the overall audit plan; Using internal or co-sourced staff to determine the effectiveness of internal controls, the accuracy of financial records, the safeguarding of assets, the compliance with laws and regulations, the achievement of management’s objectives, and the efficiency of operations; Reporting to the vice president of internal auditing; Assisting the vice president of internal auditing in preparing the annual audit plan; Reporting to the audit committee, and championing the company’s values, internal control, ethics, and corporate governance concepts throughout the company; Directing and managing individual internal audit assignments, including staff from a co-sourcing organization; Undertaking planning and risk assessments relating to each audit assignment, to ensure identification of business risks; Providing guidance to lead auditors and managers, as needed, for proper audit opening and closing meetings; Ensuring frequent updates are made during audits with those being reviewed, to ensure transparency during the audit process; Helping to ensure clear, concise, grammatically-correct audit reports, ensuring management’s remediation timetable is issued promptly; Evaluating performance
