Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after spending many years working on large projects. When she returned home, she found that she wanted to work on smaller projects. As a result, she started making folding art, boxes, and paper sculptures.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Galka has owned her company for 26 years. She is a faux finish artist, fine art and fine craft artist. She does pop surrealist art and sculptures, and has been shown in several galleries and shows in eastern Tennessee. Her faux finish work has been shown in eight showcase houses in the eastern Tennessee area. 3 Galka Design is comprised of Ms. Galka, her husband and her son. Her husband has been a wallpaper hanger and painter for more than 35 years, and her son is a muralist and faux finish artist as well. Ms. Galka has been on shows on the Discovery Channel and HGTV, and has been written about in newspapers. She has also done speaking engagements for community groups. Semiretired at the moment, she has been concentrating more on her paper sculptures and books, as well as showing work in galleries and selling shows.
