She became involved in her profession because she has always been an artist, and has been drawing since she was a child.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Burkett-Rodarté is a prominent artist in the fields of watercolor, scratchboard, oil, and pen and ink. She was the best in show winner at the 1996 Olympics, and her artwork toured the country several times. She was the sole artist, selected from more than 40,000 artists, to represent the Games, and she created 12 paintings that covered the event.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Producing all of the artwork for her studio; Selling all of the artwork to individuals and companies; Building fundraising into her work through her sorority in order to give to charities; Working on a big project for Department 56; Creating a 16-foot continuous scene that will be used for all four seasons; Working with a representative of the U.S. Air Force; Creating educational prints for those who graduate

Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Ms. Burkett-Rodarté will continue with her fundraising, and continue to attain a certain level with her artwork and evolve in her technique. She will also open up an art center that will have classrooms for teaching the underprivileged and seniors, and printing, framing and supply shops, a department for computer art, a gallery and a gift shop. It will also have rentable studios.
