Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession upon fostering an interest in the neuroscience aspect of psychiatry while completing an internship.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Diaz worked as a psychiatrist for 29 years in Puerto Rico in hospitals, and at her own private practice. She is also a psychopharmacologist and was the founding president of the Puerto Rico College of Neuropsychopharmacology. She is the director of the Dharma Institute and Research Center. The facility investigates diabetes, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit disorder, Alzheimer's disease and anxiety disorders. Additionally, she founded the Puerto Rico Psychiatric Society and the Association of Graduates of the Puerto Rico Institute Of Psychiatry. She is extremely active in women's health issues and is a part of the international congress in women's health in Europe and Colombia. Dr. Diaz has had articles published.
