She became involved in her profession through the inspiration she received from her father.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Perkins, who is now retired from teaching music in the local schools, wrote a musical based on Scrooge, the famous character in Charles Dickens' novel, "A Christmas Carol." She has led numerous choirs. She also participated in the Watcheka Sing at the University of Illinois and received a first-place trophy in 1965.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Teaching music to kindergarten through high school students
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Ms. Perkins hopes to take up dancing and computer classes, and continue teaching Sunday school.
