She became involved in her profession because she always enjoyed English and wanted to apply her knowledge in technical writing to make information user-friendly; her father, who worked for IBM, suggested that this might be a good career for her.

Ms. Hubb is a flutist who performs at a variety of community concerts and events, as well as a tour guide for the Shanghai Tunnels in Portland, Ore., and an author of mystery novels for adolescents. She has been featured in "My Ghost Story" on the Biography Channel and on the Travel Channel’s "Most Terrifying Places in America 2."
