What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
He attributes his success to the fact that he was exposed to the packaging industry at an early age. His father worked for Jones Packaging for 44 years, spending 25 of them as a lithographer before ascending to plant manager. He learned from him, and gained a strong work ethic from a very young age.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession through the influence of his father, a plant manager who introduced him to the packaging industry when he was a child. He can still remember his father bringing him to the plant at the age of 4, as well as the massive presses, how intimidating they were and the smell of the ink. He started working for the company during summer breaks and vacations at the age of 14. Upon completing high school, he decided to stay with it as a full-time job. Sixteen years later, he is still employed at the company, where he has had several different jobs.

Mr. Roberts was an attendee of several business seminars, including: Team Coaching, Fanshawe College, Ontario, Canada (2011); "Emotional Intelligence", Institute for Health and Human Potential, Toronto (2011); "How to Supervise People", Fanshawe College, Ontario, Canada (2010); "How to Supervise People" Management Seminar London (2009). He was also on the company’s Employees Association Board for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point training; Completed 4DX Management training to become certified as a 4DX trainer. October 2011.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Supervising production for the die-cutting and prepress department; Handling the departmental budget, production tracking and scheduling, new products and standard administrative work; Focusing on continuous improvement; Implementing lean manufacturing principles; Working closely with senior management; Monitoring equipment; Arranging maintenance, repairs, assistance and training on the equipment; Updating a team about health and safety policies through monthly departmental meetings; Purchasing, with a focus on cost reduction and maximizing margins; Forging and maintaining relationships with suppliers and customers; Handling employee training and development
