She became involved in her profession because she joined an online poetry group, and started blogging and publishing her poems.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Hall was born Shirley Ann Howard in Cleveland, Ohio. She retired in 2006, and lives in Oklahoma with her husband and daughter. She began writing short stories as a child, and later turned to poetry. Inspired by the writings of Shakespeare, Longfellow, Kahlil Gibran, E.E. Cummings, Karl Marx, and Langston Hughes, she began submitting her work to venues within her community. Her book "One Day: Life, Love and Controversy in Middle America" was on a list of required reading for a summer class at the University of Maryland. She is also the author of a book titled "Listen."
Ms. Hall worked for US Cellular as a member of the leadership team for 15 years.
