She became involved in her profession because she was an elementary school teacher for 10 years, she was on the Board of Trustees for Friends Academy for 26 years, and then ran a successful Real Estate Company for 40 years. She wanted to go into this industry to teach others about earning and protecting their finances.

At 20 years old Ms. Tilton began a successful real estate development career that lasted 40 years. At 23 years she also became a private school teacher at Friends Academy on Long Island for 10 years. After her teaching career ended she was a Trustee of Friends Academy for 26 years.
