Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after being inspired by a speech therapist, who helped her grandfather regain his speech through persistence and perseverance.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Berkowitz is also an administrator of a private practice, where she treats the autistic population and children with developmental delays through early intervention speech therapy and special education services. She was honored by Temple Hillel in Valley Stream on Evelyn Berkowitz Day on December 19, 2009, and for 15 years of exemplary service to children. The sanctuary was fully occupied for the occasion, and former students, as well as present students, spoke of her indelible and life-changing accomplishments.
