He became involved in his profession because his mother died of breast cancer when he was 13 and he developed an interest in medicine.

Mr. Faro is also a faculty member at The New School. He originally wanted to be a biology teacher and was awarded a full scholarship to a college. Instead, he graduated from Englewood Hospital and Medical Center and was hired as a radiologist. He takes care of his wife who has multiple sclerosis. He has spoken publicly on topics related to radiation safety.
