She became involved in her profession because when her grandmother was very sick, she took care of her. She was also influenced by her family members who were nurses.

Ms. Grassi has been in the health care industry for more than 18 years, working specifically in the field of nephrology. She is experienced working in outpatient dialysis, bone marrow transplants, and medical-surgical nursing. She has also worked in the intensive care unit at Stony Brook Hospital and in acute care at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Working in an office two days a week with stage I through IV chronic kidney patients; Monitoring high blood pressure and diabetes; Treating anemia, complications of chronic kidney illness, and end-stage renal disease at two outpatient clinics; Overseeing 50 patients in outpatient facilities; Managing dialysis; Providing patients with resources; Educating patients on ways to avoid end-stage renal disease
