He became involved in his profession because he was appointed by the tribe when he was still working at Sandia National Laboratories. He retired after 27 years, and went into his current position.

Ensuring the casinos are in compliance with all regulations, with regard to internal control standards; Conducting policies and procedures without deviation; Overseeing the commission and a staff of 15; Meeting with the national gaming commission to ensure that all games are regulated according to National Indian Gaming Commission Standards

Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Mr. Lujan hopes to help his tribe on the cultural level by helping retain the language, revive the community and the culture, and go back to the traditions. He also hopes to retire in three years from his position in the casino.
