He became involved in his profession after taking an interest in engineering at a young age.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. DeGraw has been involved in the design and construction of airports for many years, including significant projects in the United States, Germany, Spain, Barbados, Nigeria, Liberia, and Ghana. He is a former U.S. Marine who attended both aircraft accident investigation and aircraft firefighting school. Mr. DeGraw is trained in airspace and airport modeling, including SIMMOD, along with B-1900, SD-360, and B-727 flight simulators. He holds personal and diplomatic passports, and through his work with the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has traveled to the Cape Verde Islands, New Delhi, India, and Logan, Switzerland. Before joining the FAA, Mr. DeGraw worked as an architect and engineering consultant at private engineering firms, and taught airport management safety at Dowling College in Oakdale, NY. He has presented several papers on aviation-related subjects at professional conferences.
