Work History:
She taught school, was employed as a nurse in critical care, and has worked in clinical research roles such as a protocol specialist, site manager and monitor, project manager to director level positions in project management, clinical operations, and sr. director management for the global department of registries and health outcomes.
What do you feel separates you from the rest of the professionals in your industry?:
Her experience and years in the field separate her from others, as well as the exposure she has had doing government research and overseeing trials as well as working with Industry. She does a lot of research before she prepares for a proposal or a study project, and always looks for ways to improve the processes. She has the medical background from nursing as well as the operational background for implementing research studies. She has the ability to be detailed oriented but is able to see the broad scope and understands the impact of a decision on all functional areas and stakeholders. She also listens to her team about what works and what doesn't to make better decisions.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
Her greatest career achievement was serving as the project leader at the beginning of the development of the Cancer Trial Support Unit Program at the National Cancer Institute from 1999-2003.
How would you like to be remembered by your peers?:
She would like to be remembered as a fair, honest and a credible individual who gave it her all and provided support to the team and delivered quality services to the customers.
If you could solve one problem in the world today, what would it be?:
She feels it is a tall order but it would be great to find cures for diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases such as HIV-1, and heart disease. What could be possible is the goal to provide people with affordable access to treatment for diseases on a global scale.
Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
She reports that the management for the development of the Cancer Trial Support Unit program was a highlight. It was a very complex program to start and required changes in operations and administrative functions and included systems development and integration. She still observes that it is a successful program at NCI and is proud of the leadership, the team, and the collaborative working relationships with all the many stakeholders.
Charity:
She supports mutiple charity organizations such as The Salvation Army; UNICEF; Paralyzed Veterans of America; amfAR; American Cancer Society, Heifer International, St. Jude's Hospital, and World Vision as well as local charities.

She attributes her success to being a very driven person with a thirst for knowledge. It requires hard work, research and preparation, flexibility, communication skills, and thinking outside the box.

She became involved in her profession because of her passions for health care and research.
