Throughout the duration of your career, what was the one highlight that stood out the most?:
A pivotal moment for him was several years ago when he was a development manager. A customer had just acquired a partner and there was a huge project to migrate all of the customer data from one system to another. He was asked to help with a technical part of the solution while a project manager led the whole project. After a few meetings, it became clear that the project manager didn't understand the scope of the entire effort, so he went to his management and shared his concerns. His manager asked him what he'd do if he were in charge of the project. He gave him an outline of the main project threads and said he'd divide it across these functional groups with these resources. Later that day, the project manager was reassigned and he was placed in charge of the whole project. He is happy to say that they delivered the project on time and with great success under his leadership. This was the project that helped him realize he had the ability to lead more than just himself. It's the project that enabled him to step from a developer to a manager.

He attributes his success to being able to adapt quickly to a changing environment. He also has the ability to perform analysis and discovery on his own, to rapidly understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements, to understand and build big picture solutions and to understand and build solutions that require integration across multiple applications and technologies.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He become involved in his profession after working as a software developer. He likes technology and seeing technical solutions advance into business capabilities. Starting as a developer, he eventually moved into management, where he was rewarded by not just seeing his technical contributions flourish, but by finding ways to enable his team resources to become even more effective. Now as a director, he is responsible for the success of several departments and finds it rewarding to see individuals grow, team success patterns expand and departments working together more efficiently and effectively.
