She became involved in her profession because while she earned a master's degree, she started working at the water park in the summer. She grew to like it and worked her way up to general manager.

Share It Forward, established in 2005, is an effort to help employees of Herschend Family Entertainment and their immediate families improve their lives. It has blossomed in that time due to employee involvement and the general principal it serves: Families helping families. Ms. Smith is proud of her work on the board.
