The most gratifying aspects of her career are being able to impart her book of knowledge to each of her students every year, seeing the light bulb come on when a student who has been struggling finally understands, and watching some of her first-grade students become fluent enough to read 100 words per minute.

She attributes her success to her hard work and dedication, as well as the support she received from her mother and father, Jerry and Joyce Ellis, her husband and her three children.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she admired her teachers who encouraged her. Also, she wanted to have a positive impact on children and hopefully make a difference in their lives.
