She became involved in her profession after realizing that she could maintain a positive outlook in life while being involved with the pain and struggle of others.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Mead developed training curricula for staff, families and program enhancement. She assisted in grant writing for program development, managed programs through a variety of crisis and change, and served on numerous nonprofit boards, including a program that ran a shelter for victims of domestic assault. Ms. Mead is a member of numerous committees that define best practices and seek to enact state policy by testifying before house and senate committees. She walked with people in crisis and held broken bodies in her arms, but continues to be amazed at the resilience of people as they try to make sense of their world.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing the daily operations of the child welfare division and activities of 15 multidisciplinary staff and trainees in provision of a broad range of clinical services; Performing consultation and outreach to clients; Handling the annual writing of the United Way Worldwide grant application, and quarterly and annual outcome reports; Assisting with budget, report writing and professional credentialing; Assisting with determining job descriptions and duties; Posting positions; Screening and interviewing candidates; Conducting annual performance reviews; Providing direct clinical and crisis services, including initial assessments, individual developmental counseling and crisis management; Rendering community interventions, including outreach programs, consultation and training; Serving as a community liaison; Supervising six staff program assistants and social workers; Reviewing all assessments and placement reports
