Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Beringer has more than 20 years of experience in the field of information technology, and specializes in systems design, integration and security. He has several years of experience working with Linux clusters, storage area networks, enterprise backup solutions and Fibre Channel technologies. He wrote a book on supercomputing for IBM and the first standard operating procedures for the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team. He has been instrumental in supporting global Internet security via government solutions like GEWIS and Einstein, and commercial solutions like Akamai, Renesys and Arbor. Mr. Beringer is also a decorated U.S. Marine veteran with multiple occupational specialties, expert training, and many tours with the only terminally deployed Special Operations Unit in the Marine Corps. After many years of honorable service as an intelligence professional, he was selected to become a counterintelligence agent and support efforts at the National Security Agency. His special operations unit was involved in the liberation of East Timor, NEO efforts in Jakarta, Post-9/11 efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan, and other efforts throughout Asia and the Middle East. His company, The Electric On-Ramp (EOR), is the practice area leader for cyber-counterintelligence. EOR is a Native American Indian, Disabled Veteran Owned, and (8a) Certified Small Disadvantaged Business operating in a Hub Zone.
