What do you feel separates you from the rest of the professionals in your industry?:
She is separated from her peers by her knowledge of international politics and passion for what she does. She travels around the world and teaches part-time in the United States and Israel. As a result, she has a comprehensive knowledge of world affairs, international crises and management for ending world conflicts. Her world view of political conflicts, as well as her understanding of the limitations and capabilities of international organizations in addressing conflict resolution, gives her an edge.
What has been the most outstanding thing you have done thus far in your career?:
Her greatest career achievements include speaking before the United Nations and belonging to several think tanks that develop theoretical models for international conflict.
How would you like to be remembered by your peers?:
She would like to be remembered as a scholar, researcher, teacher and innovator, as well as an individual who always thought outside of the box.

She attributes her success to being enthusiastic about learning and enjoying an intellectual challenge.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after she started teaching as a Ph.D. student in New York. A professor of hers suggested that she become an adjunct professor at The City College of The City University of New York. She eventually took her academic career full time and started to publish work as well.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Nachmias focuses her research on international organizations and globalism. She states that conflict management and resolution require mediation, strategic negotiations, and an understanding of the resources available at the international level. Following the fall of the Soviet Union, the United Nations and its myriad of agencies has become a major player on the international scene. Dr. Nachmias’ work focuses on how nations involved in protracted conflicts can use the resources available to them through the United Nations to manage, and even bring to an end, these conflicts. Dr. Nachmias has been invited to three international conferences in 2012; one will be in Barcelona, Spain, and two will take place in Italy. She has published the following articles: “The Road to Success: How to risk all to get all,” “How UNRWA Perpetuates the Palestinian Refugees Myth,” “Can the United Nations Free Internally Displaced Persons from Fear? A Challenge for the 21 Century,” “The Struggle for Accountability: The Israel Government Control of NGOs,” “Dilemmas of Prolonged Humanitarian Aid Operations: The Case of UNRWA,” and “From Revolution to Civil Society: the Case of the Palestinian Civil Society.” In April of 1988, Dr. Nachmias was invited to speak at the UN General Assembly on nuclear disarmament in the Middle East.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Teaching; Advising students; Attending and participating in international conferences; Researching on voting patterns at the United Nations; Empowering people on ways to get out of difficult situations; Teaching at Towson University in Maryland and in the spring, at Tel Aviv University in Israel. Dr. Nachmias is the Dean of The Israel Leadership Institute in Sderot, Israel.
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Dr. Nachmias hopes to remain in the same profession and take part in ambitious research.
