She became involved in her profession after realizing the importance of ergonomics consultation in keeping workers safe and healthy, while improving the quality of their work.
Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Goehringer was the executive director of The Ergonomics Center at North Carolina State University and a long-time contributor to the science of ergonomics, prior to starting her own consulting firm, Actual Ergonomics, Inc. She is experienced in the development of ergonomics programs and has guided many organizations through a fully integrated process to realize the many benefits of an ergonomics-enriched work environment. She serves as corporate ergonomist for Fortune 500 companies, and is a coach and mentor for the many professionals who work to implement the various facets of ergonomics throughout their organizations. Ms. Goehringer is a dynamic speaker and hands-on trainer with experience ranging from university lecturing to industry training seminars, webinars and workshops. She has assisted numerous companies with Occupational Safety and Health Administration settlement agreements and has also worked with trade associations to develop voluntary ergonomics guidelines for their industries. She has written numerous articles on ergonomics for trade magazines and industry journals, and has been a columnist for ErgoSolutions and Leverage magazines.
