She attributes her success to her strong mentors; she has had some amazing mentors in her life. She also credits her passion for trying to make the world a better place.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession after working in foreign countries as a teacher in her 20s. She has traveled to the Ukraine, France and England, and is very interested in meeting people from other cultures and seeing how people get along.

Ms. Yamniuk has been invited to speak by the University Teacher Services at the University of Manitoba and will give a class tentatively entitled "Beat the Mid-Term Blues: Strategies to Rejuvenate the Classroom."
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Working in the international center at the university; Meeting with interested students for exchange; Working with the administrative sector to get students evaluated, situated, and transferred back, so that they can obtain their University of Manitoba degrees; Teaching; Developing workshops

Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Ms. Yamniuk intends to be hired in a full-time position at the university, doing research with Canadian ministries in education and immigration, and connecting those dots to develop policy.
