Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession because of his family background. His great-grandfather, grandfather and father were doctors.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Russell spent many years working as an internist at a private practice. He also conducted kidney research and assisted with patient evacuations during Hurricane Katrina. He is the medical director of two nursing homes in New Orleans. At 71 years old, he is determined to continue practicing medicine, having promised his wife to keep working for as long as he was healthy. Dr. Russell volunteers his time treating patients who cannot afford health care.
