Work History:
Mr. Aynsley is the Group Chief Executive of the Irish Bank Resolution Corporation Limited, a position he has held since 7 September 2009.
He is also a Director of the Bank and many of its subsidiaries.
Mr. Aynsley has over thirty years of industry and consulting experience in banking and financial services in Australia, New Zealand, the Asia Pacific region and Europe.
Between 2006 and 2009 he focused on a number of high level consulting assignments, primarily in the areas of capital markets development and financial sector reform, including projects for some of the largest regional financial service firms.
During the period 2004-2005 Mr. Aynsley worked for the ANZ Banking Group where he held a number of senior executive roles including the position of Chief Risk Officer in New Zealand for the ANZ Bank and its subsidiary, the National Bank of New Zealand.
For five years previously, Mr. Aynsley was with Deloitte Consulting and as a Global Partner he led the Wholesale Banking practice in the Asia Pacific region.
From 1992 until 1998 Mr. Aynsley was with the National Australia Bank where he was a Group General Manager responsible for the Global Markets division of the Global Wholesale Financial Services Group - he had joined the bank as the General Manager, Group Treasury.
From the early eighties, until 1991, he held senior positions with the Security Pacific National Bank Group, including Deputy Managing Director in Australia; Vice President and General Manager in Japan; and as an Executive Director in the United Kingdom.

Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession as he has always been interested in banking. He was hired by the Irish government to lead and restructure the group, and make changes that would enhance the bank and help shareholders.
