Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession because he worked in prisons for about 30 years and has ministered as far away as Louisiana. When he ministered in Illinois, he felt something was missing. Inmates were not being prepared to re-enter society. That got him interested in going deeper with it.
Extended Bio Profile:
The Rev. Phillips was with the education department for 33 years. Twelve years ago, he was part of a task force where went all around the country with the department. He worked with sheriffs and correctional officers throughout the state of Illinois in an effort to provide support and facilitate efforts to reduce recidivism. He taught life skills and has an ongoing network for re-entry into the community. He harnesses his energy to get people to understand recidivism and to repair and restore people's lives. He works with the sheriff's department to teach psychology within the institution and introduces parolees to an aftercare network so they can learn where to get the things they need. The Rev. Phillips also provides information regarding shelters and places that provide jobs, training and other services.

Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, the Rev. Phillips would love to complete this package and let the nation know that they cannot cast people aside. He believes that the nation needs to bring them back together if possible, and they should be allowed to have working relationships.
