Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Kibbie started his political career in 1960 as one of the members of Iowa House of Representatives, a post he held for eight years, inclusive of his experience in the state senate for four years. He made his decision to run in the election of 1988 after 20 years of his previous experience, and started his term with the state senate in 1989. He is affiliated with several agricultural associations.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Presiding over the senate; Ensuring all bills introduced are assigned to the proper committee; Coordinating with the legislative staff as well as the state agriculture development committees; Heading and coordinating activities with ethics, veterans, rules and administration, and state government committees
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Mr. Kibbie would like to work on resolving issues of the economy and see more people back at work in Iowa. He would also like to see growth in the fuel industry.
