Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
He became involved in his profession after retiring from a 24-years career in the U.S. Air Force. Since he had always enjoyed construction and had three uncles in Indiana who were contractors, he decided to get into the field.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Achors retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1993, after serving for more than 24 years. He began to work in his current position about 10 years ago. As a project superintendent, he has overseen the construction of three hospital projects, two of which were for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing entire projects from a field perspective; Ensuring that all of the trades are meeting their time frames; Coordinating the subcontractors in the field; Running projects, which range in scope from $50 to $80 million
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Mr. Achors will be doing some consulting work and heading toward retirement.
