The highlight of her career was being selected by her peers as Nurse Leader for the Year 2010; her co-workers arranged for her family to be present for this achievement. Her father was terminally ill, so this task was not easy, but with the help of her wonderful husband Ed, her dad was able to be present when they presented her with this honor.

She attributes her success to upbringing and her father's example.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
She became involved in her profession because she had a tendency to be a caretaker at an early age; in high school, she decided to go into health care, and ultimately got into nursing to provide care to a family member who was ill.

Ms. Striblin has more than two decades of experience in her field, and has been involved in critical care, hospice, home health, dialysis, orthopedics and surgical nursing. In addition, she has worked in a cardiac step down unit and served as a case manager, operational manager and nursing program clinical educator.
