I attribute my success to loving what I do and that I enjoy helping people maintain happier, more productive lives.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
Working in Medical is education is a new career path for me. While I still maintain a private practice, the combination of private practice and medical education compliments and informs the other. I find that I am more effective in both environments.
Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Wall has maintained a private practice for 11 years and has worked for the St. Vincent's Family Practice Residency as co-coordinator of Behavioral Sciences from November 2009-October 2011. In October 2011 she became the Coordinator of Behavioral Science for St. Vincent's Family Practice Residency.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
At St. Vincent's Family Practice I train family practice residents in mental health issues. I coordinate the Behavioral Science rotation and teach a three-session cognitive behavioral protocol to family practice residents. In my private practice, I treat adults and adolescents for a variety of mental health issues. I particularly enjoy providing couples therapy and therapy related to parenting issues.
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, I intend to continue balancing my work in private practice with teaching, training and mentoring; I hope to keep both commitments in balance, as this allows me to be efficient in both positions and enjoy what I am doing.
