Extended Bio Profile:
Dr. Reynolds spent 19 years as chair of the Marine Mammal Commission, having been appointed by President George H.W. Bush. He was also a professor of biology and marine science at Eckerd College from 1980 until 2001. He has also taught summer courses at Duke University at the graduate program in the Marine Lab. He has been featured in approximately 275 publications including at least 10 published books. Has also worked with the UN Environmental Program in the Caribbean.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing the marine mammal and sea turtle programs for ecological and conservation, hospital and rehab programs; Researching manatees as well as polar bears, whales and other marine mammals; Acquiring funding for his work
Where Will You Be In 5 Years:
In five years, Dr. Reynolds hopes to work with developed and developing communities to involve the social sciences with research science to achieve positive conservation efforts.
