The highlights of her career are numerous, including: learning to teach diabetes self management in Spanish, being among the first 1800 registered nurses to earn certified critical care status, establishing a Pennsylvania department of health approved ambulatory diabetes self management education program to qualify for insurance reimbursement, assisting in re-establishing a diabetes camp in West Virginia for children with diabetes, collaboration to set up training programs with a new insulin pump manufacturer, and learning from her patients and colleagues.
