Ms. Hicks states that her recognition is in honor of her predecessors who have labored tireless in the profession to make a difference in the lives of children, to make it possible for her to be an agent for change and influence future leaders in the field of education. Her belief is that schools in and of themselves, cannot be blamed for that in which the entire community must make a priority, including parents.
