She became involved in her profession because of her passion for science and the peer-review process, as well as her belief that scientific research can lead to sustainable development and capacity strengthening, and provide solutions to many of the world’s pending crises.

Dealing with major international and domestic scientific agencies, including the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Department of Energy, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Agriculture and Department of State; Managing international scientific research grant and fellowship programs in multiple scientific disciplines; Participating in the scientific peer review process; Overseeing proposal review and logistics; Writing and editing; Utilizing her negotiating skills to solicit peer reviewers; Advising international investigators on proposal improvements
