He became involved in his profession because of his interest in sustainability and the environment, and experiences in the field at a previous company.
Extended Bio Profile:
Mr. Lantz began his career as a public consultation and waste management master plan coordinator in Hastings County, Ontario. He then moved to Proctor & Redfern, Ltd., Earth Tech Canada and worked as a manager of diversion programs. He was charged with planning, designing and engineering collection and processing systems for recyclables and organics. He then moved to Stewardship, Ontario, where he helped develop the first industry stewardship plan for recyclables in North America, the blue box program plan. He then took a position as principal and business unit and practice leader at MacViro Consultants Inc.,Genivar, helping build the solid waste group into one of the strongest in Canada. He continued to focus on recycling and composting, helping municipalities, business and industry improve efficiencies and maximize diversion initiatives.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
Overseeing quality, staffing, product changes, new technology evaluation and continuous improvement in production across the United States and Canada; Working to increase sustainability and environmental performance; Engaging in public speaking endeavors; Writing and presenting technical papers; Participating in the packaging industry through numerous industry organizations and directly with companies; Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement; Marketing; Consulting services to the public and private sectors
