She became involved in her profession because she recognized the need for a weather-resistant alternative to permanent markers to label children's camp and sports equipment. There was nothing available for hard gear that would withstand elements, so she investigated various materials. Finding that vinyl labels worked well, she started her business.

Prior to establishing Gear Skins, LLC, Ms. Nash spent more than a decade as the communication director at Michel Heneen & Co., CPA, P.C. Between 2007 and 2010, she worked as an independent bookkeeping consultant to small businesses and a large nonprofit organization based in Denver. She is fluent in Arabic.
