Extended Bio Profile:
Ms. Matallana is one of an estimated 10 million people in the United States who have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a life-threatening chronic pain disorder. Before being diagnosed and spending two years sick in bed, she was a partner in a prestigious Southern California advertising firm. She has developed and led multiple programs focused on patient advocacy issues. These programs have resulted in more than 1,000 government proclamations calling for research into the cause and cure of fibromyalgia. Ms. Matallana has written several chapters on fibromyalgia research issues for student medical textbooks.
