She was born in Germany, and due to her father's occupation, spent most of her youth in Europe. She speaks German, French, Spanish and some Italian. She attended high school and the University of Maryland in Spain. She began working at Moron AFB, Sevilla, Spain while attending the University of Maryland overseas program.
