What Does He/She Attribute Success To:
She attributes her success to the love she has for her work, helping her clients on an individual basis, hard work & and great mentors. My teachers have showed me how to see & bring out the very best in those I work with, to build on their strengths, to improve a weakness, to confirm self known confidence in each one, both physically & mentally. Most of us have potential we must still discover. Joe Pilates said "It is the mind that controls the body". Today we know this to be true in so many ways, We must make a very good effort & proceed with both our physical & mental intelligence, blessings, kindness & humor.
Why did you become involved in your profession or industry?:
Julia became involved in her profession while a student at the School of American Ballet in New York City. As a teenager, she grew four inches taller in two months, which caused her to loose balance & trip and fall. She then developed sciatica and Mr. Balanchine recommended that she study & practice Pilates with Romana (in N.Y.C.) to overcome the pain & gain strength. She moved on to dance professionally & work with various well known pilates and ballet instructors. Lydia Bach & Elizabeth Halfpapp at Lotte Berk and Melissa Hayden taught & mentored early teaching skills, along with the teachers at S.A.B. & Romana Kryzanowska. In L.A. Julia worked closely w/ Yvonne Mounsey & Rosemary Valiare, & reunited w/ Romana Kryzanowska in 1994 to become Officially Certified to teach the True Pilates Method as a 2nd generation Romana's Instructor.
