She became involved in her profession because of her passion for Disney since childhood and her ability to take advantage of industry-related opportunities before working for The Walt Disney Studios.

Ms. Bird is a Reiki master and uses hand-healing techniques to promote health by helping people to relax and achieve balance throughout their systems. She has done series work for Hanna-Barbera, Filmation, Ruby Spears, and other animation studios. In addition, she completed the ink and paint work for the following films: "Treasure Planet" in 2002, "Lilo & Stitch" in 2002, "Atlantis: The Lost Empire" in 2001, "The Emperor's New Groove" in 2000, "Fantasia" in 2000, "Tarzan" in 1999, "Mulan" in 1998, "Hercules" in 1997, "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" in 1996, "Pocahontas" in 1995, "The Lion King" in 1994, "Aladdin" in 1992, "Beauty and the Beast" in 1991, "The Rescuers Down Under" in 1990, "The Little Mermaid" in 1989, "Oliver & Company" in 1988, "The Great Mouse Detective" in 1986 and "The Black Cauldron" in 1985.
